Audi to tout show car in Austria

udi is offering a glance at its A3 TDI clubsport quattro, a show car it plans to unveil at the Lake Worther Tour car show in Austria this month.

The automaker is using the aggressively designed, European racing car lookalike to maximize the exposure of its TDI diesel engines as they approach 20 years on the market. Audi debuted the TDI technology in 1989.

New to the United States is the drive select driving dynamics system: At the flip of a switch on the center dash console, the driver can influence engine response, alter exhaust system sound, adjust steering power and modify the car's stabilization system and suspension. The options can be used to put the driver in a comfort mode, dynamic mode or individual mode.

Audi will introduce the system on A4, A5 and S5 models next year.
